To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we chose the Viking Empires of the Mediterranean cruise and it was indeed fantastic. The Viking ship is beautiful and never feels crowded! The service is impeccable, the stewards are incredibly accommodating and personable, and the entire staff is to notch. The lounge areas are great, especially the Explorers lounge at the front of ship where we watched many a sun set while sipping cocktails. The restaurants are all fantastic and we also enjoyed room service breakfast every morning as we came into port at sunrise. The spa area is relaxing and fun with a unique snow room and cold bucket to experience Nordic traditions. The Winter Garden room for afternoon tea was a relaxing nice touch after a day of excursions. The ports and excursions were just unbelievable on this cruise highlighted by a gondola ride in Venice, the Acropolis in Athens, the sheer beauty of Santorini and the incredible walled fortress of Dubrovnik. We also did pre and post extensions with Viking which were very well run with interesting excursions, highlighted by a trip to Delphi and Olympus. Highly recommend Viking and this cruise.

Cabin Review

The Penthouse Veranda on Viking is a fantastic cabin and well worth the upgrade from a deluxe veranda room. It is well laid out with more storage space than we could ever use. Highlights are a lit make-up mirror in the desk, USB ports for charging on both sides of the bed, different size robes for tall or short folks, heated floor bathroom with large shower and tons of spaces to put toiletries, very large comfortable bed, roomy hanging closet, etc. etc.
