Golden Princess was great. After reading some reviews I was a bit apprehensive. But our interior stateroom was surprisingly roomy, and the boat was in perfect working order, and clean throughout. Our room steward did a great job. Food was really good in the main dining rooms, and portions appropriately small if you were having several courses. Horizon Court had many options. There is a gym and several pools, but I would have liked some fitness classes. i think there was one every morning early at 7.00am.
Entertainment. Daily platter had it all listed, but sometimes it was confusing to read and get to each activity. Cruise staff were brilliant, Corey and Lauren especially. And Dion the singing waiter in the Explorer bar. Several stage shows were excellent - especially Born to Dance. Only criticism of the Princess Theatre is it was often packed and they let people sit and stand on the side steps, which is surely a health and safety issue. They should have closed the doors once the theatre was full.
The most disappointing thing was that we were unable to land at Kangaroo Island which is the main reason we booked this cruise Apparently the previous cruise could not land there either, and one earlier in the year couldn't as well. Would be interested to see what percentage of cruises do get onto the island. Disappointing as the other locations weren't that exciting.
