This was my second cruise with Royal Caribbean, and we've been on several other cruises with other companies. We had such a great experience on our previous cruise with Royal that we were disappointed by how much more we spent on this cruise yet how crowded this ship was (which made us feel like sardines at times). One of the staff members told us that the next renovations for the ship was going to include increasing the number of cabins for people to sleep in so that it would be even more crowded! We were disappointed that there was no cabin steward despite our paying for a junior suite (we prev had paid for a balcony), and that other than a kiddie pool, there was almost nothing for toddlers. The bigger pools and basketball court were often taken over by various groups. The formal dining room food and dining room staff were excellent. The breakfast was the exact same in the formal restaurant as you can get at the cafeteria, and yet we never wanted to eat at the main cafeteria because it was so crowded that it was very hard to move through the crowds to actually get food much less a table to sit and actually enjoy breakfast. The ice cream dispenser by the swimming pool was convenient but the quality of the ice cream was pretty poor. The babysitting staff were nice and our toddler enjoyed her time with them. The casino was hit or miss depending on which staff was working at your table. There were few excursions that actually allowed for toddlers, so we did a lot of tours, which actually was not ideal for a toddler. Overall, if you have a toddler and are looking for a quality cruise, this is probably not the ship for you. If you have kids 6 years and older, there are more activities for that age and you will probably enjoy the ship more. By the sheer number of groups, we got the impression that this ship probably offers some great group discounts, so this may be a good cruise for groups, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who has an aversion for crowded spaces.
This was our second stay in a junior suite. Our previous junior suite was larger and better laid out. The toddler bed was VERY uncomfortable, which didn't help our kid sleep through the night. Our bed was fine, however.
