This cruise for our time line for our group and went to ports we wanted to see. Or at least it was supposed to. A week before we flew to Venice we got notified that there were “technical issues“ with the ship and would be missing two ports. They also shortened the time in the rest of the ports we were scheduled to actually visit. For this we got only a $100 non refundable onboard credit. We also had made outside private arrangements at three of the ports which really squeezed our schedule of sites we could visit. Equally annoying was the fact that at times during the nights when we were supposed to be sailing we would either be stopped or moving very slowly. However on the final night we were moving like we were in a race.
Embarkation was relatively fast and easy.
The whole ship is very dated but the Balcony cabins were adequate. The bathrooms are pretty good in that the shower and toilet have sliding doors and it’s larger than other ships we’ve been on. Our cabin steward was very attentive. The balcony rails and clear panels and the chairs were filthy as were the sliding glass doors. Looked like they are never wiped down.
Average size cabin with okay beds. A little firm for me but that’s a personal preference. We could have used more hangars and additional drawers but we made it work. Bathroom was bigger than other cruises we’ve been on and we liked the separate shower and toilet. The balcony overalll could have used a good scrubbing. The chairs were dirty as were the rails and clear panels.
We took a taxi to the old town and wandered around and climbed the wall. The visit had to be cut short because of terrible weather that moved in while we were in town so we just made our way back to the ship.
Arrived and spent a day prior to sailing just touring and seeing the sites on our own.
Explored Corfu on our own. Lovely island with friendly people.
