We live in Cyprus and thought a cruise from Limassol would be very convenient, avoiding air travel etc. We left our car at the port, which was located next to arrivals/departures and the ship itself.

We boarded the ship just after 1pm and were surprised to find out most of the passengers had not departed yet. On other cruises we had to be off the ship by 8am. Marella had a far more flexible arrangement even allowing departing passengers to go on tours in Cyprus. The ship departs at 9pm, no doubt due to the late arrival of flights.

The crew were very friendly and accommodating, always saying hello when passing by. Restaurant service varied from buffet style to waiter service in the main and specialty restaurants, which charged extra. The main restaurant on deck 4 offered fine dining for breakfast and dinner with open seating. It was also open for lunch at times. Reservations required at the two specialty restaurants and it is advisable to book in advance. The extra charge was worth it.

Cabin Review

We opted for a grand suite for the balcony space. Separate bedroom, living area and lots of hanging space. Bathroom had a whirlpool bath with shower over it. When we had a bath water drained very slowly. I tried to fix this by pulling plug out but that caused water to rise through the floor ! Air conditioning was too cold for us but this was fixed promptly. Cabin steward excellent.
