We chose this cruise for the itinerary. It took us to places that we hadn't yet visited. There were many ports of call in a row, making it very busy. We treasured the rare sea day. The Atlantic crossing went smoothly, but we found it too long.

We enjoyed the high level of service. From the shore excursions desk, to guest services, to our cabin stewards, and the people working in various capacities on the ship. the service was fabulous. We didn't purchase an internet package and had heard it was very slow on the ship. We were flying home the day of embarkation and wanted to at least check in for our flights home. The woman at the guest services counter was helpful and she want the extra mile. It was beyond our expectations.

The entertainment was not what you'd find on a larger vessel. We've heard that this is the model Holland America will have from now on, even on larger ships. On our 32 day cruise, we enjoyed one comedian and a dance performance. Unfortunately the dancers couldn't return due to a technical difficulty to do with the ship and port of call that day.
