After sailing on the Eurodam in March, 2019 on an extended cruise to the south pacific, we were hoping that the Volendam would be an improvement concerning food quality. We were pleasantly surprised and did not have a single issue on the Volendam the entire cruise. We are 4 Star Mariners and have sailed with Holland America for many years and have recently seen major issues with food quality; this was not the case on the Volendm. We hope that Holland America is getting the message and improvements with food quality are being made fleet wide.

As usual, the staff was excellent and always the highlight . Cabin attendants were always excellent and attentive to every need.

Another improvement is that they recently raised the maximum for the Signature Drink Package from $9 to $11 which had limited some choices as a result of recent price changes. Still a drawback, you can not get a more expensive drink on the plan without paying the full price for the drink (there is no method for just paying the difference).
