This was our first ever cruise and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. From the moment we boarded in Singapore after waiting hours in the Port and treated like sheep moving us from pen to pen we were greeted by someone occupying our room. The sickness on board and the necessity to consistently scrub up in order to avoid the sickness constantly had you anxious that you might be next. The Port of Cambodia was so bad that we could not get off the Shuttle Bus to explore this town or meet the people who desperately needed our tourist dollar. It looked like an earthquake had hit it. This cruise had a very high percentage of older people which made getting on and off at Ports a little slower than I expected. We ate in the Marquis dining area as we felt that this would be safer than the buffet to avoid contamination. Our section of the dining room had tables that were closed as staff were not available to service them. Some of the staff became sick and the remainder of waiters were given cleaning duties to try and combat the virus, therefore leaving a shortage of staff in the dining room. The food was very average and there were no salt and pepper shakers on the table, you needed to wait for staff to provide you with this and we were not allowed to hold the shakers ourselves so there were many times we got too much salt or not enough salt on our food.

Cabin Review

Oceanview

Our cabin was lovely. We had new furnishings and the space was quite surprising. No complaints here it was the best part of our trip.

Port Reviews

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

The shuttle bus took us to a Shopping Mall in the middle of nowhere. There was nothing to see, so don't waste your time going there. We had previously been to Vietnam therefore we had seen all the sites being offered to tour but regret not booking a driver to take us around and showing us some of this town.

Sihanoukville

This port should never have been included in the Itinerary. The shuttle bus took us into the town but we were not able to get off and explore as it was impossible to walk anywhere. The entire town is under construction and there was no entry to any of the buildings. It seriously looked like and Earthquake had hit it. Everyone got off the shuttle bus and straight onto the next shuttle bus to return us to the ship.

Bangkok (Laem Chabang)

We took the shuttle bus into town and spent the day shopping and eating. This was our first taste of Asian food since leaving Singapore. We enjoyed our day, but I would recommend hiring a driver to see a lot more.

Koh Samui

We enjoyed Koh Samui, we took the shuttle bus into town, shopped, ate and drank. Once again I regret not seeing more of Koh Samui and would probably recommend a driver or a tour.

Bali

We are regular visitors to Bali, so we knew exactly what we wanted to do. Massage, massage, pedicure and manicure and BEER (cheap beer).
