This was the worst cruise I have ever been on. I lost 4 lbs which tells you about the food. The service, excepting our cabin steward, were all people who needed training - from the dinning room where they rushed our meals even setting the next place setting before you finished the last course - to the customer service desk where no one knew the systems or could make a decision without it going up for review. For example, our room flooded from an external source. Our cabin steward took the wet/damaged clothing to clean them. Next thing you know - there is a $94 charge on my room charges. I go to the customer service desk to ask to have it removed. They didn't know if they could. It took 2 days and then I got a 'courtesy credit' like they gave me something rather than removing the charge. Because the room flooded, I spent a night in another cabin. As comp - they offered a bottle of wine. I said fine - send it to my dinning room. After it didn't arrive, I asked the dinning room captain to find out what happened. The next night - I asked him what his result was? He didn't remember that I had asked him - but when he reviewed his own personal notepad, there was the request as he wrote it. This was typical of all the staff. What I found out is that customer service sent the order to the 'anytime' dinning room. Had they even taken a moment to look at my record - they would have discovered that for 28 days I had an assigned table at an assigned time. Again - this was so typical of the staff. They didn't bother to look up my record and did it wrong. Actually - they could have asked me where I dined - but that didn't happen either.

I want to comment on the room. It was a typical inside room without enough room for even a lounge chair or sofa. What I didn't find out until I got there is that it had bunk beds hanging inside the cabin on the walls directly opposite where I got into bed. That made the walkway from my side of my bed to the bathroom about 6" wide instead of the 12-14" it should have been. Of course, this had little effect on a 71 year old man who made frequent night trips to the bathroom. I won't tell you how many times I banged myself trying to get clear of my bed. Not ONE picture of the room type I booked on the Princess web site shows this room style for this ship. The possibility of this style room should have been conveyed at booked whether through a travel agent (who probably didn't know this configuration existed) or from the cruise line. I am not a 20 year old with kids needing extra bunk beds, which hung inside the room not tucked in the wall out of the way.

Commenting on the food could be an entire review in itself. The pool food excepting the pizza was awful. Soft french fries, hamburgers that had already been cooked and were being kept warm in open containers were some of the delights. The Lido food had a single main meat at each meal and that meat was duplicated in all the other dishes. For example if you had carved pork roast as the main - all the other meat dishes were pork - like pork in sauces or curries or whatever. No variety of meat was available at any single seating.
