I went on this trip to get a sense of SE Asia first hand. We have been on many Viking ocean and River cruises, so the ship, cuisine, level of service and accommodation and amenities were as usual -excellent.

Our required VISA expenses $350 per person for short stops in Vietnam and Cambodia were a unpleasant experience. We had to send in our passports to a third party and pray they came back before our trip. After 25 days of waiting- our passports and VISA documents came back. If you travel a lot, then that may be inconvenient.

Our Viking Free Air package was a long haul from Dulles in Washington to Japan. From Japan to Hong Kong arriving on time 10PM. Traffic was very light at that time of night. a Excursions were available there, but we were too tired.

Cabin Review

Excellent , roomy, clean, comfortable beds. Large storage in closets and drawers.

Port Reviews

Hanoi

Relaxing and scenic.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

Bought black silk PJs and foldable straw hats and chopsticks. Enjoyed the water puppet show!

Sihanoukville

Very rough TUI TUK ride. Nice river cruise, beach and drink stop. Visited home of fisherman and rice farmers.
