we chose this cruise because of rhe value, and we had never been to new orleans. we got there three days early and toured the city.visiting on the same weekend of the bayou boogalou classic football game was a mistake.way to crowded ,and there was another shooting after the game. the food was very good.there was alot of construction beginning downtown,so getting around was not easy. the cruise itself was ok. the food was not up to standard to what we usually see with carnival. steaks over cooked or under cooked. eggs benedict where the eggs were hard boiled the hollandise sauce was awful.the singers in the shows were not very good, which made the shows hard to sit through.the overall service was very good.the cruise director kevin was annoying as hell.the weather was nice which made the over all trip enjoyable.the embarkation and debarkation process went very fast and smooth.
the cabin was very roomy, but the bathroom had a soft spot in the floor and there was a very annoying creaking or dripping sounding noise coming from the air vent off and on the whole cruise,it would sometimes wake you up at night. we did not complain about it as the cruise was completely booked, and we did not want them coming in the cabin trying to work on it while we were not there.
carnival docked way at the other end of town so you can get a taxi in to town for 8 bucks. its about 3 miles if you walk, which we did going but got a taxi back.
