Sail Date: Dec 2019

December 2019 cruise to PNG. Something different to see and well impressed. Be prepared for some negatives on the Aria. No chance of sleeping in as each day from 7.30 am an over enthusiastic crewman/ fitter excels in bashing ship metal with a mallet then spending ages grinding off bits with an angle grinder somewhere around deck 4 or 5 midships. Food generally good but suggest giving Angelos a miss. Cold unpalatable mains, miniscule entres and regrettably surly serving staff. Whereas, the Dragon Lady Asian Fusion is a must. Excellent food and most pleasant staff. Wanted to eat in Waterfront restaurant one night, had to book, head waiter said sorry fully booked out for next two nights. Went to leave when he suddenly offered table for 5pm, said no thanks as too early. Again went to leave when he suddenly said "I can give you a table that night at 7.30pm",( notice I kept my hand in my pocket the whole time). What is his game. Anyway, came to dinner at 7.30pm many people who had not booked were standing around waiting to get in (no tables?). The entire time during our meal around 90 minutes we were surrounded by numerous empty tables.

Tip: Expect the worst and you won't be disappointed.
