We chose this cruise because I had heard so much about the innovative design.
We were assigned cabin 7206 which was listed as an infinite veranda. We always get ocean front veranda cabins which typically provide close to 180 degree views. This cabin provided about 80 degrees. (see photo our our view) Directly next door was an extended cabin that supported the superstructure for the magic carpet. Their veranda actually jutted out to the side looking directly into our cabin. If I were to advise anyone who was considering this ship, I would recommend they book only on the port side as the magic carpet structure obscures many cabins on the starboard side; some more than others.
Food on previous Celebrity cruises has been very good. We were very disappointed with the variety and quality of the food on this ship. Apparently they are hoping you will upgrade to the specialty restaurants which have higher up-charges than any other ship I have cruised.
DO NOT BOOK THIS CABIN or any near midship on the starboard side. View in this cabin (and others above and below) is severely restricted by the superstructure of the magic carpet. We kept the window and curtain closed for most of the cruise.
The cabin is beautifully appointed; sleek and modern with ample hidden storage. Bathroom is roomier than many ships. The bed is very comfortable.
Infinite veranda is a gimmick with very little practical use.. We only opened our window on one occasion then found it too cumbersome, noisy and slow to use on a regular basis. Whenever the window is open (to mimic a traditional balcony) the air conditioning cuts out and the room heats up very quickly. The room darkening shade must be up if you want to open the window. Bi-fold doors can be closed to allow privacy within the cabin but they do not block the sunlight.
