Sail Date: Dec 2019

I took this short cruise with my Mum as a quick festive getaway. We had low expectation due to the very reasonable price we paid and for the most-part our expectations were either met or exceeded.

The ship is very old - no amount of decorating will hide that fact. It has been re-branded and changed hands several times over its 35 year life and it does look its age. However, it does have a retro charm and we quite enjoyed going back in time for a few days. It was mostly well maintained (as much as such an old ship can be) and was very clean throughout.

Most of our fellow passengers were 65+ which does make the experience echo that of a floating care home. I, being 24, was by far (VERY far) the youngest passenger on board.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was clean and quite spacious. The carpeting looked new and the beds were reasonably comfy. Being an aft cabin, it was extremely noisy due to being above the engines, however this did not disturb our sleep too much. The room was extremely hot and despite putting the air-con on full blast, the room remained hot throughout the trip.
