We just returned from the 4 day cruise on Island 12-16/20. Shortest cruise we have ever been on. Island is a beautiful ship and the last of Princess's great mid size ships. FIRST - we walked all around deck 6 aft (which was empty of passengers) and there is NO VIBRATION! Finally it has been fixed. We did not expect a whole lot of the trip, but they put on two of the most amazing production shows we have ever seen. The Secret Silk and On the Bayou. They were not production shows as in the past. They were musical plays with a great story to tell in song and dance. The sets and costumes are fantastic. (We have been on over 100 Princess cruises so we have a lot of historical comparison) They are technical marvels and Princess has finally found a use for the video walls which on earlier shows we found profoundly distracting. They create amazing scenery along with three dimensional props. Do not miss either show - and watch especially for the Dragon in silk. We go for music and dancing and they had two groups that were very good, one excellent. Really enjoy the hugh Wheelhouse floor. So sorry this has been eliminated on Royal Class ships - which we sailed on once and never again. All of the rest is typical Princess.

We were in E205. This is a very forward cabin the same size as a balcony cabin but with the balcony area inside. It is similar to a mini suite, but smaller. Loved the cabin - BUT it was a little rough sometimes and very rough other times and the cabin moved a little, but the noise of the ship hitting the water woke us up a lot. I would avoid any cabins this far forward. Our son was in E309 and it was noticeably different.

Dining service was slow to acceptable, our visit to Sabitini's was very disappointing. Although free we cannot recommend. Worst waiter we have ever had and food no better than MDR. Save your money - we will probably give away any future free certificates. Will say however, we ordered filet from Bayou in MDR and it was excellent.
