We booked this cruise for our family of 4 because we’ve done the same Pitts before and they were each a great experience. The rates for a balcony cabin this week were surpassingly low. Embarkation was smooth as it always is with Carnival. We used park4cruise.com which was the best priced, no issues. We got to our room 6227, by 1:30 and were very pleased with the amount of storage. I wish they offered more wall hooks and more outlets. There was just 1 outlet on vanity. I had pre-purchased bottle water to be delivered to room but since we were past guest, they also gave us a bunch of free waters. The beds were very comfy and room was quiet and perfectly located. As for food, Lido offered a decent variety of food. Pizza was disappointing as it’s very thin and burnt. Guys burgers and fries and the Cantina for tacos are probably the most popular and consistent. Downside to Lido is the hoards of people lined up like cattle who’ve never eaten before. You see lots of food wasted here too. And always use sanitizer. Entertainment on the boat was so-so. It seemed like there was like a lull in stuff to do between 5-9. Highlights included the Folley theatre musical shows, different decade of music review each night. Performers talent just mediocre. Comedy shows were hit and miss but always full. Definitely go to The Quest game show if you can handle raunchiness. So much fun but definitely R-rated, no kids. Truffles dining was disappointing. What used to be included in the past is now an up charge. Service was mostly slow and inconsistent for breakfast and dinner. We brought wine onboard and spent about $40 on drinks. You can count on $10 each drink. Frankie the CD was a lot of fun and had the knack to entertain a diverse audience. Our kids did the teen club and seemed to enjoy that but they did find the kids activities to be lacking. Finally, the ship, while clean, looks like it’s way past due for an overhaul. It felt very gaudy gothic-Egyptian with browns and golds and 90s decor. There was lots of rust spots throughout. Smaller ship size made it mostly easy to get around.
