We were planning on a trip to Barcelona for week and decided to try a transatlantic experience. Barcelona is great city and we had a great week. Having read previous reviews, we realized that the Star was an older ship that had a refurbishment, so we knew it wouldn't be perfect. All in all, it's not one of the best, but it is pretty good ship.

We had a mini suite which had a couple of nice features including a full size bath tub which was very nice. The cabin was a good size. The bed was bit too firm. The sofa was like sitting on a rock. I've never understood why NCL hasn't made these couches more comfortable for daily use. We like to spend some time in the cabin and a more comfortable couch would have made all the difference! Our cabin location was on deck 11, under the pool deck. A bit of noise in the early mornings from pool deck furniture being moved around, but not a deal breaker. The glass on the balcony is getting pretty old. Not as clear as you'd find on a newer ship.

Our cabin attendant Ricardo was amazing. He did a great job and we were very lucky to have had him look after us. The majority of the crew were great as well. Very friendly ser

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

The mini suites are nice! The bathtub is a great feature. The couch is not comfortable to sit on. The beds need an upgrade.
