MSC Seaside Yacht Club Review
Cruising cannot get any better than the treatment one receives in MSC Yacht Club. Who am I? Nobody in particular. Just guy who uses the nom de plume, Rattanchair, on the CC boards with 700 posts and several prior reviews, a couple of which have been removed because of my overly sardonic observations. ( And Plato said “Fools just have to say something”).
‘The cat is out of the bag’. There are those that wish to keep the Yacht Club a secret for fear of MSC raising their prices on these very few cabins of a ‘ship within a ship’, especially their Royal Suites. But their attention to details in the Yacht Club, so far , exceeds all expectations of the suite class cruiser. For the price, one does not get the ‘diluted’ experience being ‘crowded out’ of suite venues by ‘entitled ‘ non-suite paying passengers afforded suite amenities by accumulating cruise points traveling too many times in the ‘bowels’ of a certain cruise lines ships. I will agree with the many suite traveling enthusiasts that another ‘sister’ line to the aforementioned cruise line has a better and more varied dining menu in their suite restaurant ‘retreat’. But the service is ‘head to head’ only in the suite restaurant. Another suite cruise haven lacks the adequate staff for those wishing to avail themselves of specialty dining out on deck, and has the most monotonous breakfast, lunch ,dinner, menu making a back to back cruise an expensive error of judgement or a gluten for punishment.
A chirping noise coming from the thermostat in the living room. It did not keep us up at night. We put duct tape over the red light of the TV and over the blue lights of the thermostat in the bedroom and we slept like babies. We were thankful that the concierges did not leave constant daily messages on our cabin phones causing the phones to blink incessantly, like Celebrity. You spoiled us so much we can not cruise in any cabin in the YC but the Royal Suite.
The YC experience on Ocean Cay is the best life has to offer. The staff iYC is simply giddy with enthusiasm that is infectious to those of us that partake in the experience. Ocean House is immediately reminiscent of the famous Raffles Bar and Hotel in Singapore. I highly recommend a 'Singapore Sling' and you might recall the forgotten days.
