We cruised over the Christmas/New Year with anticipation of an at sea experience - the menu for Christmas day was seriously underwhelming.
We booked a mini suite - while it was roomier than a standard cabin, the balcony was tiny - couldn't even put a deck chair facing the water - could only sit side on.
The lounge furniture was dirty and stained - the whole decor looked old and tired.
The bathroom was an interesting design - if you sit on the toilet, your knees are touching the wall and if your partner opens the door, you can loose a knee cap!
The gym is probably the tiniest I've experienced on board a cruise ship although the equipment was modern (more so than the suite furniture).
If you have a food allergy, don't expect to be wowed by your meal choices. We were advised that much of the produce is pre-packaged therefore greatly reducing the ability of the onboard cooks to modify a meal to cater for a dietary requirement.
While we have cruised with Princess on a number of occasions and had a great experience, this ship isn't in the same class - lifts were broken and out of service, machinery was breaking down and the furniture in the crooners bar was like the min suite, old and grotty.
Bed was comfortable - suite was roomy although balcony was tiny - almost unusable.
What a surprise - so pleased we were able to visit.
The tour to the island was as expected - we saw dragons, pigs and deer so left satisfied
Didn't get off the ship
