Short summary - My wife and I will cruise princess again, we have already started looking at options for late 2020. Cruising is quite different from the way we normally vacation, and that is okay. Cruising will not replace our long-haul flight jaunts but will add a much-needed supplement to our often exhausting vacations. We had an amazing time at our own pace.

The lengthy version, read on at your peril:

As mentioned, cruising is very different from our typical holidays. Generally, we visit several countries over a relatively short period of time. Each country we visit generally requires an international flight, sometimes with layovers, and always with the hassles of air travel. Couple that with needing to transport luggage from city to city, and the fact that we average close to 30,000 steps a day while exploring cities, we return fully exhausted.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Clean and well taken care of by our steward, Ivan. He was incredible. Not a whole lot of space, but adequate for a cruise ship. Only downside is the lack of in-room seating, there is only a bed and a desk chair. We did not spend a lot of time in the room, thus additional seating was not important to us. We liked the room and would choose the same again.

Also of note, the balcony was quite large! Dare I say one of the larger balconies on the ship, it was amazing.

Port Reviews

Curacao

We really liked Curacao except for the beach, it was far too crowded. Hardly any room to enjoy ourselves. But the city and rest of the island were impressive.

Martinique

We walked around the city for a few hours, mostly people watching and visiting shops. Had a great time, low key port for us. Would consider an excursion next time but had fun.

Barbados

We walked 20 minutes do the beach not too far from the cruise port, ended up having lobster and drinks at a restaurant right on the sand. Not enough local food at the restaurant for me, but nice beach and wonderful staff. Would go again.

Antigua

Walked around for 20 minutes then went back to the ship. Will do an excursion next time, I am sure we missed a lot.

St. Thomas

Just had drinks and chatted with passengers from another ship for about 4 hours. We have been several times before.
