We, as a group of couples, decided that we would like to be on a New Year’s Eve cruise. This was one that had an itinerary, and price that we were interested in. Check in went well and was efficient. The rooms were a great size and had tons of storage. Not happy with not having a turn down service, but, found that that was the least of our problems. The first night at dinner, I decided to order meatballs and some pasta. This was seriously the worst meatballs I’ve ever seen. They were made with the teeny tiny portion or the melon baller. They usually y give you only three but he said he would give me a large order. Everyone at the table actually broke out in laughter when then saw the size of the meatballs. Then we tried to get drinks when we first sat down and was told they don’t do drink service in the dining room. We finished dinner and went to the bar. The bar’s didn’t have cranberry juice. Our friend only drank cosmos. Only one bar had cranberry. Someone else decided to have a Bloody Mary. No bloody Mary mix. No tomato juice either. Then, my husband drinks crown (in our drink package). All out. Had to go to a different bar. If all of us were together and we wanted t-o drink , we had to follow each other to different bars so we could all get our drink of choice. We went to the pool. The pool bar said they don’t stock crown. They didn’t have cranberry either, and they ran out of Bloody Mary mix. I even approached the bar manager. He did make sure we had cranberry, but the rest were missing. Most ships give you all of the ice cream you want. On this one you had t-o buy it. Water too. The tv was ridiculously small. The shows were ok but the translation after Italian, French German, Spanish was so long. The muster on the first night at nine o’clock took 45 minutes. Tiresome and frustrating. There was little to no communication on this ship. Most staff didn’t speak English. The topper was when I met a family that the father/father in law took them all on a cruise. He , as it turns out. Was the former president of costa cruise line. He gets free trips. He said he wouldn’t go on another costa cruise.

Now for the food. On New Year’s Eve we picked lobster. The absolute worst thing EVER. It was not a full lobster but sliced in half and you only got half. Of that half, there was , maybe , a quarter of an ounce of lobster in the tail (I’m being generous). It was over cooked. You didn’t know how little there was because the tail was filled with potatoes. Ugh! The claw was so overcooked that you couldn’t prey the meat out. Not that you had the opportunity to because they never gave you a fork that would fit in the claw. We were all so disappointed. We had a cruise booked on the costa favulouso. We canceled. We were also unhappy with the crew. They seemed like they didn’t want to be there. Almost all had attitudes. The bartenders were awful. We asked for a mudslide and they said they don’t make them.....company policy.

Never again
