My husband and I loved our Anthem of the Seas cruise that we took for our honeymoon! I had cruised previously but this was my husband's first time on a cruise ship. We stayed in a balcony cabin on the 8th floor in room 81030 - I prefer to be closer to the mid-front of the ship and this cabin was perfect. Our room steward Idewa was fantastic! Cruising out of Cape Liberty was a huge highlight! Be sure to stand up on the top deck for the sail away - you won't be disappointed! The cruise length was perfect and we loved the ship. It was easy to navigate and find quiet spots. It was a bit hard to find an empty chair on sea days. We loved the 24 hour pizza and the Music Hall (we went there almost every night and loved being able to sit up top and watch the dancing below). We were very impressed with the dining room - out waiter Mardika and assistant waiter Iputu were phenomenal and very accommodating! We also loved the We Will Rock You Show - I recommend going early to get a good seat. Ripcord I-Fly was also a lot of fun! Overall, I had been nervous to go on a bigger ship because of the crowds, but we really enjoyed it - however if you are going on a honeymoon I would recommend a balcony to be able to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy some quiet - and you'll always have a place to sit! My husband loved ordering room service in the morning to eat on the balcony. All of the crew seemed very friendly and they ran a decent number of activities - my husband liked playing dodgeball and we wished that the volleyball and other sports ran more on sea days. The bumper cars were a lot of fun and worth the wait. The rollerblading was awful! They required us to put on the same sweaty equipment (roller blades, helmet, knee and elbow pads) as the people before us - they were soaked and smelled terrible - I was so grossed out by the time I had them on that we lasted two minutes on the rink before I wanted off. We also weren't impressed by the show Spectra's Caberet and we did not like the specialty restaurant Wonderland - this is imaginative fine dining and they serve you 95% of the menu, so if you are picky or not very adventurous, this is not the restaurant for you. We also wished that there had been more variety in the buffet - it was pretty much the same thing every day. A few more activities to choose from on sea days would also have been nice.

Ports of call were all great! In Bermuda we did the Hidden Gems tour and it was fantastic! For adventure seekers it is perfect. We got to tour the island, cave swim, cliff jump, try local cuisine, and snorkel. Our tour guide Meeko/Miko was amazing and stopped to show and tell us all about local plants. The cliff was about 15 feet high and was gorgeous - you did not have to jump if you didn't want to and there was a 10 ft jump for those wanting something a bit shorter. The group size was a nice amount and the free time to snorkel did not feel rushed and was very nice right off the beach. It was one of the best excursions I have done. We decided to do St. Maarten on our own and we took a taxi to airport beach (Maho Bay) - it is a very small strip of beach and very crowded! But it was really cool to see the planes fly right over your head and the powerful take off had people falling and flying all over the place (I would not recommend bringing children here) - be sure to swim out a bit deeper as my husband cut his foot on a rock from the waves close to shore. From there we walked about 15 minutes to a beach called Mullet Bay - we were done with airport beach after about an hour so it was a nice change - it was more secluded, less crowded, great snorkelling, and beautiful - be sure to make sure you leave with a group for a cheaper taxi rate and ensure there are other cruise people around so you are not in the very last taxi - if there are none you could be in trouble - we also hit rush hour so give yourself lots of time. In San Juan we did the Carabali Horseback Riding - it was a lot of fun!! The guides were great and I would highly recommend this to anyone worried that they may find trail riding a bore. We walked around San Juan upon our return which was easy to do - lots of shops nearby.

Finally, we did the Dragon's Breath Zipline in Labadee as well as a snorkel excursion. The zipline was fun and thrilling as neither of us had been, but was a lot of money to be over so quickly and we agreed we wouldn't do it again now that we have been. The snorkelling was amazing here! The crew was a lot of fun and the snorkel guide would bring things to the surface from the ocean floor to show us and let us hold. Lots of cool marine life! And the scenic boat ride was nice - even with both excursions we had lots of time to explore the private island and go to the beach but we like to stay moving. BEWARE the people in orange shirts who act like they are doing surveys - they will coax you into a hidden market behind the market building and will bombard you and push you into buying things - we, as well as many other passengers, got tricked into this and returned with items we did not wish to buy. The BBQ from the ship for lunch was a nice touch. We hopped on the North Star as we sailed out of Labadee - it was nice to see from above but it was a lot of hype for something we thought was just okay. It was VERY hot inside and we were very ready to get out when it came back down. Ports were easy to get on and off the ship - no long waits considering the number of passengers.
