A river cruise through southern France was the perfect way to get to know this region, with the least amount of stress. Viking provided a most comfortable accommodation on board, excellent food, outstanding guided tours and wonderful service overall. We enjoyed our extended tour in Paris as well with Viking. The bonus on Viking is getting to know other passengers and having companionship while traveling. This was our second Viking River cruise and we will travel with them again. Our flights were also well timed with no issues. We flew from US to Paris, enjoyed 3 nights in Paris, took the Viking booked train to Lyon, all transfers went smoothly. Then we extended our European trip to Barcelona. It was up to us to book transfer from the ship to the train station in Avignon. We had the staff schedule us a cab, no problem. The train to Barcelona was very fast and comfortable. After 5 days in Barcelona, we flew out, on our return flight booked through Viking. We prefer to upgrade flight to economy plus, and there are added fees for doing any changes, but the overall price is still better with Viking!
