We chose a small luxury vessel because we had sailed before. First time to celebrate our mother’s 80th birthday . That time was luxury and service at its maximum expression. A few years latter we chose to spend a new years with Silverseas, the we went to Alaska. Than this one.

The ports were terrible, Guatemala and Belize are poor destinations with poor attractions, but we thought they weren’t as bad as the reviews we saw. Key West and Cozumel are good ports. I don’t know what Silverseas are doing in those two countries, especially Guatemala, with all the insecurity, armed police and just the general feeling that you don’t feel safe. Belize, well there is nothing there if you have limited mobility or if you are over 70.

But the worst part was the service, most waiters don’t understand well English, so you ask for something and they bring you something else. Some are are bad mood and even “talk back” or roll eyes when you ask for something. After you eat, either at the dining room or at the Grill, they take more than 20 minutes to clear the table. Most time you have to ask to clear the table.

Cabin Review

Veranda Suite

It is very small and the tub is terrible because it is just hard to get in, the spaces are small but confortable, nice bedding, just a little too old fashined.

Port Reviews

Santo Tomas de Castilla

Ver poor town, armed police everywere, do not recomend

Belize City

Sad city, nothing to see and nothing to do.. Belize is for younger people because the activities are away from the city, not for older guests.
