We were so impressed with Viking on our cruise to Great Britain in May that we just had to book this cruise to the Mediterranean in October. The trip started with a wonderful three days in a villa in Tuscany before we took a bus ride to Venice to embark on the cruise. Embarkation took only 15 minutes, and our luggage was already waiting for us in our cabin. We chose the Penthouse Jr Suite for this cruise and found it to be roomy, spotless and quite comfortable. You cannot beat the extra large showers in this suite! For the next twelve days we thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful ship, its crew and excellent cuisine. Our favorite eatery was the terrific buffet. The World Cafe is simply superb! It is, hands down, the best buffet we have experienced on a cruise, and that includes Celebrity and Regent.

The specialty dining did not disappoint either, although we really don't care for the Chefs Table.

Viking makes no excuses about being an excursion focused cruise line. We only had one sea day and every day contained lectures on various topics related to the Mediterranean. Port talks were very well presented and always well attended. Speakers were interesting and very informative.

Cabin Review

Not as luxurious or fancy as other suites we have experienced, but well designed, comfortable, airy and sufficiently large--especially the shower.
