Having done two previous Viking River Cruises but never an ocean cruise, my husband and I decided to try one with Viking largely because of itinerary and the size of the ship. We had absolutely no interest in going on a ship the size of a city.

We were over the moon happy with our decision. The cruise length for the West Indies Explorer, was perfect, we never felt as though there were over 900 people on the ship. We enjoyed being able to eat when and where we chose, with the people we chose to eat with and without being told how we were expected to dress. The food was excellent in every venue we tried. We enjoyed the entertainment options onboard, none of which were casinos, auctions, etc. We enjoyed sailing with adults. We love children but in close quarters on a ship it can be a little much sometimes.

The staff were all beyond incredible. Very friendly, very accommodating, never had to ask for anything twice. It was almost as though they could read your mind.
