It was a Scandinavian cruise and we went to a lot of different ports. The best thing is that the weather held up the whole time we were there and there was no rain and the temperature was quite comfortable, which I understand is not the norm in those countries. We took an optional excursion in Hamburg, Germany to see the Neuengamme German concentration camp and memorial, which was well worth it from a historical point. The Kiel Canal and going through the locks was exciting, as well as stopping at each country. This cruise is well worth it and took volumes of pictures and video.

We have been on many different cruise lines in our 54 years of marriage and there is no comparison between Viking Ocean cruises and the others, and this was our second Viking cruise. Viking goes far beyond what is expected and they do not "nickel and dime" you to death like the other cruise lines. Over and above all the amenities you get from arriving to the airport to being delivered back to the airport upon departure, I liked the fact that Viking does not constantly "bug" you to take pictures of you during the cruise, then try to sell them back to you at inflated prices. In fact they don't do any hard sell on any merchandise or push "sales" in the stores through annoying announcements. Your are treated with respect at all times and they make you feel like royalty. If you want pictures, you take them yourself. They also don't perform that dumb "towel art" with all your towels and wash clothes hanging off the ceiling and on the bed at night while you are out of the room. I could go on and on, but you need to experience an ocean cruise on Viking, and you will never go back to any other cruise line! Nuff said!

Cabin Review

Outstanding cabin with more than enough room. The cabin steward was exceptional and met our every need. He kept the place immaculate! Lots of extras that you don't have on other cruise lines -- even private radio receivers to take on the excursions which are kept sanitized and charged in your room. And those big comfortable fluffy towels and slippers in your room and the heated bathroom floors with floor track lights so you can see your way at night - OMG!
