Full of complaints about the 'Jewel' which appeared to be no more just a Tasman 'shuttle'.
Some parts had been 'refurbished' - still smelled of paint and carpet glue - fumes pervaded our cabin and gave us headaches. Unsuitable pattern - black and white. The white will very soon show marks!
There was no 'ART" - I missed this - and the art auctions.
The unrefurbished parts (most of the ship) was shoddy with worn carpets - the ceiling panels were uneven and some drooping - with black "stuff" visible all along the corridors where the panels met the walls. ??
Most of the crew/staff were people with English as a second language which caused communication difficulties at times.
The food was below par - especially in the 'posh' Waterfront restaurant! Chefs cut the meat WITH the grain hence 80% of meat was like chewing gum! Desserts were disappointing as was variety.
Meals are all over servery - no more self help - so portions weren't as you would chose.
I expected to walk in to the atrium and saying 'Gosh" in amazement - as with the Sun Princess. This was just a disappointing "oh" !!!!!!
We had to pay for the bottles of water in our cabin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The entertainment - all live music was TOO LOUD to stop and listen to.
The comedy show in the evening - 7pm. A handful of comedians (some good, some not) before the star of the show. I, along with many other walked out!!! NOT suitable for an early 7pm slot!! -- or any for that matter!
The aircon was very loud! Our hair dryer didn't work!
The lifts were so slow, it was quicker to walk the stairs.
................... probably other things as well, but that will do for now
Stinky toilet on arrival. Paint and glue fumes kept us awake with headaches!
We went our own way and had a good time :)
