Quaint towns and history galore

We loved the variety of the ports on this cruise. Bergen was a cute little town and quite a contrast to St. Petersburg. The small ports are easy to navigate directly from the ship. We enjoyed doing a little hiking down from Mt. Floren, hiking along the river in Eidjford and being able to see the countryside. Thoroughly enjoyed Berlin altho it was a long ride.

The historians and naturalists add a whole new dimension to the cruise.

The overview excursions are very good with a good choice of optional ones. We particularly enjoyed the Sachsenhausen concentration camp on the way to Berlin and and in St. Petersburg, the Peterhof Palace was amazing and the Russian native songs and dances quite entertaining.

All of the staff was friendly and attentive. The room stewards knew when we left and had the cabin made up without us having to wait. This was so nice at night when we were ready to crash and everything was in order.

This was our first Viking Ocean cruise altho we have done one Viking river with another river planned for the spring. This trip made us believers in Viking Ocean and I feel the large ships will no longer be on our list of preferred travel! We have plans for another Viking Ocean in 2021 and we are already excited about it!! Viking does it RIGHT!!
