Had a great time from start to finish. Everything went smoothly after the arrival at the airport in San Juan. We were immediately transferred to the ship. Check in was a seamless process at the port. Our room was ready as soon as we boarded and our luggage arrived to the room about an hour later. We ordered room service that night as we were tired from traveling and it was delicious.
The rooms was lovely and very spacious. It was nice having a balcony to watch the sunset or arrival at the next port. We had a great time on all the included and optional excursions that we booked.
The best was on the island of St. Martin at the Timon Parfumerie where we created our own perfume and cologne. The trip to Harrison’s Cave on Barbados and the hot baths on Dominica were great too.
The food was wonderful at each of the restaurants onboard. From the World Cafe buffet to the Prix Fixe chef’s menu at the Chef’s Table.
This is the second Viking cruise we have been on, the first being a river cruise in Europe. On both cruises, Viking’s attention to detail and customer services was outstanding.
Customs at the port in San Juan at disembarkation demanded that the ship be cleared by 9:00 am, so Viking arraigned a hospitality suite at a nearby hotel for the people who had a later flight to relax and have refreshments until it was time to go to the airport.
I would not hesitate to travel with Viking in the future, and in fact booked two more cruises while on board. If you book while on board there are discounts and perks available.
Had a wonderful time seeing the El Yunque rain forest and waterfall. There was a stop at a market also for Puerto Rican tacos that were excellent.View All 129 Rainforest Reviews
The train excursion was very boring. There was not anything much to see, and the train was so loud and creaky that you couldnt hear anything that being narrated. But, there was included alcohol.View All 303 Scenic Railway Reviews
Went on a driving tour around the island and to a botanical garden house on top of the mountain. It was very informative about the island and culture. The botanical gardens were beautiful as was the view from the top of the mountain.View All 300 Island Tour Reviews
The cave was very interesting and beautiful. The formations inside were incredible and at one point they turned out all the lights and it was so dark, you could not see your hand inches from your face. There was a nice little gift shop too and great photo opportunities in the cave.View All 96 Harrison's Cave Reviews
There was a driving tour to a lake and then around the island while our guide gave us info about the island and the effects that Hurricane Maria had on the island. Then we went to the hot springs, which was very nice and relaxing. You have to try soaking in the hot spring and getting under the waterfall afterwards. It is quite invigorating.View All 12 Hot Springs Reviews
Just a standard driving tour of the island.
This was the best excursion we went on. We went to the perfume shop and learned about perfume making process and all of the dents a bases. We got to make 3 different scents and pick our favorite, which we then made into a full bottle that we named and took home. We also received a goody bag with one of the shop’s signature fragrances and soap, lotion, etc.View All undefined undefined Reviews
