Our first cruise was a Viking River Cruise. The idea of cruising was not high on our list, but friends encouraged us to join them. Everything exceeded our expectations. The quality of Viking staff and the amenities on-board the ship were outstanding, and this ocean experience was even better.

The idea of a large ship with thousands of people is not appealing to us. The smaller sized Viking ships never had a feeling of being crowded.

We anticipated the disembarkation at ports of call would be slow, so were delighted that in most cases they were a breeze. In those few cases where bus transportation was required for everyone was any wait required, but things moved remarkably quickly.

Port Reviews

Cartagena (Spain)

Too much time driving to a light house and back; not enough time to see the city and ruins.

Portsmouth (England)

Squeezed in two tours. Winchester Cathedral had the surprise treat of hearing the London Symphony practice. Not enough time to wander the town.

Copenhagen

Had the opportunity to spend time with friends walking for hours across Copenhagen then finishing with dinner in their home. Outstanding end to a wonderful adventure.
