A little rough in the Bermuda Triangle haha

Chose this itinerary as it included Bermuda We love to visit Bermuda for a couple of days but wouldn’t stay longer so this cruise seemed ideal. The itinerary was fine and all places as expected. We took advantage of the included trips at some of the ports and they were fine by us. We chose this ship hoping for something different as we have been disappointed in recent years with some of the upmarket lines especially Silversea. We loved the style of the ship, the dining arrangements were brill, the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. So why not 5 stars. We had one of the suites at the back of the ship with the wrap around balcony (6099). It looked fantastic but the furniture wasn’t very comfortable in the lounge area. The balcony, although long, wasn’t very deep so Sunloungers had to be one behind the other - not good for conversation or there was a two seater sofa where you could sit together - this was a bit too close for comfort as this was squashed in at the end of the balcony. So all in all the suite was a bit of a let down except for the bathroom with its fantastic shower area with a view and the bath with tv was very smart. We had to have the underfloor heating off as it was too hot and there was no thermostat to control it which was a shame. Now the worst thing regarding the cabins location - under the sun terrace area by the infinity pool where chairs and tables were set up early morning VERY NOISY so no chance of a lie in. My fault though I noticed this possibility and chose to ignore it. The other big problem for my husband was the included wines- no choice other than white or red and neither of a good standard. Worst German red we have ever tasted better to pay for a decent bottle if you are a wine lover. Big problem for myself as a smoker. Smoking facilities are abysmal on this ship but not sure if you are allowed to complain these days

Having said all this we did have a really good cruise and would go on Viking again but would go in a regular cabin next time

Cabin Review

Explorer Suite with Balcony

Smart, stylish but not comfortable. Balcony long but not deep so not best seating arrangement.

Short on drawer storage

Best bathroom ever. Would have liked a guest cloakroom which we have usually had in this standard of suite.

Early morning noise from tables, chairs or sun beds being dragged about by staff setting up.

Cabin service was faultless, both boys were brilliant
