Our first P and O cruise, flying to/from Barbados and cruising round the Caribbean. First week saw unprecedented weather with strong winds preventing us berthing at St Vincent and St Kitts (although the Captain managed to squeeze in St Kitts later on, and replaced St Vincent with Martinique). On-board food was very good (gluten-free dietary requirement was very well catered for). Entertainment ranged from OK to good. Service from staff was excellent. The ship, which I believe is about to undergo a refit, had some major issues. The worst was the frequent strong smell of sewage around the mid-ship stair well and lifts, which also reached into the bars nearby and up onto the top deck. Our cabin suffered from continuous A/C fan noise, and the A/C failed completely on our last day. We believe other passengers had plumbing issues. Forget getting a sunbed on the top decks as there's little space, with beds rammed together. Overall the ship isn't a bad ship but desperately needs work doing to it, to keep it up to standard.
