As a repeat traveler on Viking Cruise line, I knew exactly what to expect from the luxuries and amenities offered onboard ship, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the outstanding food, and the amazing shore expeditions.

This trip was really, really amazing! We started in Venice, where, after a long flight, we were greeted warmly and well taken care of right off the bat. We were able to sign up for the evening gondola ride, which was so beautiful! After that we spent time in St. Mark’s Square, and to see the ancient basilica and Doge’s Palace. Now I’m a photographer with a new camera- to see those buildings at night and then again the following day was very exciting to me! On our way out of Venice, there was a regatta, which was very cool to see all of the stunning buildings, boats and canals as we headed to Croatia.

Our next stop was in Split. For the shore excursion, we selected “Highlights of the Split Riviera.” We had a wonderful guide (unfortunately, I can’t remember her name). Our trip took us along the coast and we began in the medieval town Trogir- which was very beautiful and charming! We also got to hear an a cappella men’s choir, and we had free time to walk along the coast. Next, we stopped at an old mill, located in the middle of a nature preserve, to enjoy lunch. Our last stop of the day was the city of Split, which also has ancient buildings. There was so much to take in! After our tour, we were able to have free time for more exploration.
