Always wanted to visit Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam. Picked the time of year as it was decent weather and the price was right. Been with Norwegian twice before and although not the best they do seem to give value for money. Boarded, very easily, in Singapore. Got to our balcony cabin, not the biggest but OK. Ship seemed fine. Travelled two days to the port which hosts Bangkok for an overnight stay. Back on board and sailed to a dump in Cambodia called Sihanoukville. Looked as though it had been bombed. Lots of building going on and in 15 years time it’ll be fine and populated by Chinese and casinos.
On to Saigon. Waited nearly 2 hours, from 07.15, to board our coach for their Delights of Saigon tour. How disappointing both the tour and Saigon. We must have visited all the wrong places.
Nah Trang next, I think, where we waited over 2 hours to be tendered ashore by only 4 lifeboats. Had a good day on the beach before waiting, in the sun, on the dockside for over a hour, in a queue to be tendered back aboard. The rest of the cruise was OK.
A little jaded (joke) but large enough for 2. Bed was fine. Balcony big enough. No milk for tea. Had to use coffee whitener. Cabin lad wanted to turn the beds down at 7.15 while she was still getting changed to go out. Bit of a pain every night. In all, nothing to complain about.
Excellent 2 days in Singapore. The gardens and free light show. Also the ship in the sky. The beer mega expensive but worth a pint. The hawker markets for food can’t be beat.
Booked an overnight stay in Asoke hotel in the centre. Great city, hotel fine
A dump. Took a tuk tuk around the place but it’s grim. Had a swim on the beach which was good.
Quite a good day. 3 hours on the junk then walked to the end of the jetty for a look at the port terminal. Very little there.
Excellent few days there. Bought an Octopus card to get around and spent only the equivalent of £3.50 in three days. Reclaimed the rest back at customer services. Ferry, tram, buses, underground.
Stanley market, the Big Buddha, Star Ferry, Ladies market, Jade market, Temple Street night market. Food is great at these markets. Fabulous place.
Had to be tendered to the dock. Waited two hours. Ok when there.
