We went on this cruise with others who had already booked. The Norwegian crew were excellent in every area. They were helpful and seemed to be happy in their jobs. The ship was clean and seemed to be well maintained. Embarkation was easy and pretty quick when we arrived around 10:30. However after boarding the ship you realize how confining the ship is. Seemed like only one bar was open in O'Sheehans when we boarded so service was slow. NCL gives the drink package away so you would think they would be better prepared. Lifeboat drill was confusing, crowded, we sat in the casino hallway and could not really see anything. Then, since they only have two 2 elevator areas the crowd leaving the drill was HORRIBLE! People shoving trying to get on stairs was bad. Elevators were full and packed all week. Since casino is located in an OPEN area in the middle of deck 7 you immediately smell stale cigarette smoke on the ship, especially on deck 6,7, and 8 in the middle.which is where all the restaurants are. Getting into speciality restaurants was a JOKE.NCL gives the dining package away also as a freebie but they had no seats available when we boarded the ship. But we saw tables go empty all night. We asked every night but Ocean Blue was always full but tables stayed empty all night. We did manage to sit on the waterfront and order Ocean Blue menu. Getting off the ship for the private island and disembarkation was long and tedious. Halls are narrow and our mini suite is the smallest we have been in. Closet located next to bed was awful. No dressing area. Person sitting on couch had to move every time someone needed to use desk or go out the balcony. Food was good in the main dining room. Food was very good in Ocean Blue. Bar servers were overworked almost everywhere bc of Free drink package but they were all good at it. Not their fault NCL needed to hire more help. Overall enjoyed the cruise with friends but will never cruise on this Breakaway class of ship. I don't smoke but feel like I smoked a pack of cigarettes this week.
