I don't have any complaints about this cruise, except it is an older ship. Otherwise, everything was wonderful, especially the staff in all departments! Cabin was depressing as I quickly learned the importance of light. Our cabin steward and dining waiter went above and beyond any expectation we came on board with. Embarkation and disembarkation processes were easy and smooth. San Francisco was a great city to leave from with much to do and all ports of call were more than beautiful. There were many activities available on board including yoga, comedy, bingo, theater shows, singing/dancing, game shows, and BEST of all...movies under the stars! The staff replace all the pool towels with fleece blankets to snuggle up; a different movie played each night. Food was delicious with wide variety, even the buffet was good. There were multiple hot tubs available, nice and hot for the cool weather in Alaska. There are two formal nights which is fun to dress up and have a nice meal. The amount of marine wildlife along the way and in Alaska was incredible! I can't say enough how much I recommend this cruise. It is most definitely worth your money!

Cabin Review

Interior

Cabin had adequate space for two people, never felt cramped. Suit cases fit under the bed and there were plenty of hangers in the closet and shelving in the bathroom to tuck things away. TV in room has cable available for free along with movies, TV shows, etc (kind of like Netflix). There is one section that has different movies filmed in the locations you are visiting in Alaska so that was awesome! One day when we docked in Sitka they had "The Proposal" playing on outdoor big screen :) The room was just what we needed, however I wouldn't recommend interior room as you never know what time of day it is. Recommend window in room or balcony (A LOT of whales randomly everywhere along the trip so a balcony may be beneficial for some free, upfront whale watching!).

Port Reviews

Haines

Rented a car and independently drove to Chillkoot Lake where we saw a bear and then drove to the other side of Haines for a picnic at Chilkat River. Had plenty of time to shop in town before returning car and walking back to ship. Car rental just across the street from dock.

Juneau

Independently hiked to the ice caves within Mendenhall Glacier, most of them are gone but able to find a few. About a 5-6 hour hike including exploring around and on the glacier.

Victoria

Second time being in Victoria so we just walked the shore line to a few small beaches and look outs. Paved trail right by port.

San Francisco

I live here, however there is SOOO much to do if coming in early or staying a bit after cruise.
