Chose this because dates lined up perfectly with kids school break. Also a desire to go to Hawaii. It was made much more difficult due to a sick passenger, and returning to Honolulu 2 days after leaving. Add to that very high seas/winds and big storms making it difficult to enjoy the ship. Cruise did not stop in mexico as planned, and still returned far later than planned.

Absolutely unacceptable to have 2 out of 6 elevators out of service all 15 days and no way to take the stairs from Emerald Deck (8).

Service was good. Steward was excellent. Food was ok. Maitre'd best ever resulting in great dinner service.

Cabin Review

Oceanview (obstructed view)

Cabin was small. Despite paying for obstruction the view was perfect. Biggest issue was being over the door on 7 that leads outdoors.... all day & half the night. Bang. Bang... Bang... Second biggest issue TWO elevators midship didn't work (out of 6 possible) and most of the time a 3rd one also was out. So many wheelchairs and motorized vehicles, no way to get on. We would take the stairs but they are blocked for crew only! Terrible to have to go to the far aft or forward stairs just to go directly down from our cabin to the dining room.

Port Reviews

Hilo

Friends met us. Very easy to get off the ship and walk around. We went to Mauna Loa nut factory and a huge candy shop. A short walk to Walmart.

Honolulu

Great fun in Honolulu. We got around using Uber and went several places. Easy. There are also Hilo Hattie shuttles that take you to the Ala Moana Shopping Center free.

Kauai

Rented a car. This doesn't need to be preplanned. All the companies have vans there to take you to the airport to get a car. Loved driving around here. Wish we were in port longer.
