We chose this ship based on ports. This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise. We have sailed with NCL, Celebrity, and Carnival.

Pros: we arrived at the port, checked our bags, and within 15 minutes we were on the ship. The food at the windjammer was delicious. Same with the main dining room. Very flavorful. Our cabin, 4045, was always spotless and quiet even though it is located down the hall from the R bar. Our cabin steward was very friendly, called us by name, and asked what we were doing that day and/or how was your day. We went to see the comedienne (hysterical), Travis Cloer (jersey boys, very good), and a show with the VOS dancers (just ok). Chairs were always available by the main pool and the adult pool. Alexa, the bartender at the adult pool solarium, was awesome. She remembered names and favorite drinks. Always had a smile on her face. We took 2 shore excursions through Royal Caribbean. Both were excellent and timely.

Cons: service in the MDR was just ok. We sat with 3 different waiters. Only once were we asked if we would like another glass of wine. You had to wait for them and then ask. This seemed to be reoccurring throughout. Bartenders and servers had to be ‘flagged’ down. At times, they still ignored you. My DH and I like to snack after 9. Unfortunately the only option is burgers, hot dogs, pizza, premade sandwich, and french fries, nothing healthy. Soup, salad, antipasto would have been nice. Most nights, Latin music or piano player were offered. A variety would be appreciated . The gym seemed to be an after thought. Additional space to use the free weights would be appreciated.
