This cruise was in celebration of my wife's 75th birthday. While we took the Viking Grand European River Boat Cruise, this was our very first ocean cruise. We did not know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by the experience. Having nothing to compare with, we were impressed by the size of the ship...900 passengers with lots of amenities and excellent service. The food quality and variety was very good, ("Gelato anyone...wait in line"), and we especially enjoyed the various dining options.

The ship staff we interfaced with were over the top...great attitude, engaging, sincere and always there to make sure we were taken care of and having a good experience.

We appreciated the Bridge classes and Bridge games that were available on cruise days. It was especially enjoyable on those extended cruise days when we were not able to go into port due to the wind and heaving seas. The instructor, Angela, was excellent.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was spacious, well appointed with a very comfortable bed, plenty of storage and a more than comfortable bathroo with lots of hot water in the shower. We had an expansive view from our deck; however, the weather only allowed us a couple of days where it was comfortable to sit outside very long.
