This was our 12th cruise, 2d on HAL. What a disappointment! Ship is tired, scuffed, dirty and smelly. Needs a major renovation. Design is dated, but more important it's just old and not well maintained. The ambience of the ship transferred to many (but by no means all) of the staff, many of whom seemed just as tired as the ship and were simply going thru the motions. The food was mediocre--Pinnacle was much better, but main Dining Room and Lido were just OK. Many of the port selections were marginal choices; hard to believe there were not better stops, esp on the west coast of Mexico. We took more excursions from non-HAL operators than we did from HAL, because the offerings were better. The final insult from HAL was being nickle/dimed throughout the trip. We spent over $75 on water, even though we had a Signature Suite. Totally non-competitive. Hard to imagine I would ever go on another HAL cruise. 17 day cruise thru Canal was about 5 days too many. Avg age of passenger was extremely high, and we're not kids.
Cabin was good size, bathroom was modern and clean. Furniture and design was adequate, but nothing special, esp for a suite. Website claims renovated recently but hard to believe.
