Just returning from 7 nights Carib cruise.

Embarkation was smooth, luggage arrived within a few hours. Our room steward JAMES WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD ON ANY CRUISE!! Our first stop at Princess Cay was a nightmare. Only one place to purchase clam shells - woman was rude - told us after we paid that we had to look for a "guy in a red shirt to unlock the clamshell and set it up". There were alot of red shirts, but we soon found out that there was only ONE GUY AND ONE KEY AND THEY SOLD OVER 50 CLAMSHELLS!! We spent 45 minutes waiting for help. The BBQ was ok but again with people reaching into food with their hands and NO ONE stopping them.

The food on ship was mediocre at best. Food on MDR on getaway day was tasteless - chicken was overcooked, all dark meat, guest next to us said hamburger was overcooked and tough. Buffet was mismanaged - no one watching people reaching into food with hands, not enforcing hand washing as u enter any dining area; hot foods ?? like sliced turkey, bacon wrapped meatloaf, french fries were cold - fries at Salty Dog were 100 times better. Empty serving bowls on buffet not replenished - just left there for guests to ask if there was more; Alfredo's is suppose to be the best pizza on a cruise ship - dont let a New Yorker eat there then! Crust was perfect but toppings were just average - cheese and sauce - not memorable. Specialty restaurants were not impressive - Spagatinis was very run of the mill tasting food, nice presentation but no stand out flavors. Crown Grill was ok - 22 oz porterhouse had a decent strip but very VERY small filet. Alot of fat on strip- decent flavor. Never been on a cruise that limits you to one entree or pay for additionals - previous cruises always let u choose extra entrees without cost - might understand if i wanted to have 6 lobster tails, but not a regular entree! Medallion App was a nightmare - 4 times we asked for asst from guest services and internet cafe - worked until we walked away then nothing! Never got our free drink that was to be ordered thru app and delivered to us! Excursions desk was ridiculous - they could not answer even the simplest questions - shouldnt they know more about what they are selling??? Tendering to St Maarten was good - cruise director kept everyone in good spirits while waiting. Celebrity Theatre is ridiculous - 2500 plus people on board and theatre holds 600 comfortable - told u have to line up 60 minutes before show and even thats not a guarantee!! In the dailys, they talk about "CHAIR HOGS "- people who grab a bunch of chairs early in the am and then sometimes dont show up to use them until much later - Sky says they monitor them and will remove the unattended belongings - NEVER, EVER SEEN THAT DONE. Alot of us want to enjoy a chair in the sun but not at the expense of setting your alarm for 6am to secure one. If you are going to post it, ENFORCE IT!! Overall, Sky is a nice ship but needs a lot of attention to things that matter most to the guests. Oh, and after hearing the opening to LOVE BOAT 1000 times, it gets old! Cute once or twice but not every port - arriving and leaving and then 4 times when leaving St Maarten. And one last, BUT VERY IMPORTANT thing, where are the female officers??? Need more Captain Kates from Celebrity!!!

Cabin Review

Balcony

Smaller than other cruise lines but adequate. Didnt like large medal barrier on balcony looking out. Shower curtain - yuck - not the most sanitary!

Port Reviews

Princess Cays

See whole review please - a very frustrating and time consuming experience - totally unnecessary of Princess did a better job overseeing the port!!
