We have traveled with Celebrity often, but this is the first time on Equinox. We’ve been on sister ships. She has been updated with the Retreat amenities and appearance for those in suites. We experienced the usual wonderful service. I’m not happy with the new look for the days’ activities paper. It is in, by time, in sections, and it can be easy to miss things that occur at the same time. I’m most impressed with the internet speed and service. Considering that we are at sea, it is outstanding. We sailed back to back and the procedure between Cruises was well explained and worked reasonably well. There was some waiting. The main one was standing in line until a customs agent showed up. He barely glanced at our passports. One big change from the last time on Celebrity (nearly two years ago) is that the check in is easier and your room seapass card is outside your cabin. You are allowed to go there to drop off your things and then go for lunch until all cabins are ready. The ship accommodates the guests without seeming crowded. - except near the bars before dinner. The singers and dancers shows were OK and very loud. We usually check in on them, but tend to leave early. With the exception of one comedian the other entertainers were below average. We were in the Caribbean so the ports are what you make of them. For us nothing was overly impressive, but it’s great to get into the sun and water activities. I am scheduled for knee replacement surgery, so decided to rent a scooter. It was a great decision. There was plenty of room for it in our cabin, a suite.
We have become spoiled with the Celebrity Suite. There is lots, and I mean lots, of storage space. There is a separate bedroom and a walk-in closet. You can request afternoon canapés or go to the Retreat to help yourself.
