The cruise was free from a L .V. Casino. We did pay $99 to upgrade to a deluxe balcony from the free inside room. Cabin steward Herman was wonderful, efficient and readily met all of our requests. Dining waiter, Oliver, remembered us and our preferences from a previous cruise. A superb job.
Now to the big negatives. Disappointed by the lack of preparation for virus, especially since Princess already had two quarantined ships. No one permanently stationed at buffet entrances to insure that everyone wash their hands. In view of the crisis, did not have crew serve, allowed everyone to get their hands on everything...this is how virus spreads. Bad news. Proper cleaning products to clean tables were not used after every guest. Chairs were not wiped down. The buffet should be off limits unless Princess properly addresses sanitation. Ditto for proper cleaning supplies in room. We spent an hour with products we brought on board to clean every knob, drawer, service. Room rug was dirty and worn, needs immediate replacement. Couch is made of material and must be shampooed, which it was not. Throw pillows on couch should have zippers so they can be washed and changed between each and every cruise. Princess must step up and do a much better job during this crisis. Additionally pre-screening before boarding was non-existent. We only had to fill out a small form, people lie. No temperature taking, no simple verbally checking and questioning. Way too loose of an operation. We cancelled our upcoming cruise.
Carpet in cabin dirty, worn, badly needs to be replaced. Couch is material and needed to be shampooed. Pillows on couch should have zip covers so they can be replaced after each voyage . More attention should be placed on proper products to sanitize rooms. Princess is very lack in addressing this issue.
