I was part of a group of 18 family members who choose the Magic for both its departure / return dates as well as itinerary. Let's just say, the family made the cruise memorable not Carnival. Yes Carnival staff work hard to make your cruise experience enjoyable.....and the Cabin Stewart was awesome.
Conversely, there are many Carnival shortcomings. Being a group of 18 we have a difficult time coordinating two tables of 9 at main dining. The 'HUB App' lets you pick a maximum of 10..... We we told to just pick ten people on the app then tell the hostess the party number is actually 18...... dinner was a 2 hour event every evening. Too long for me. Carnival needs a better method of facilitating both My Time Dining and large group dining.
The non-showtime entertainment was good. I found the volume of the music at most venues (except Main Lobby and Red Frog) was too loud. It's not a concert, it social. Pool Side live music was unbearably loud. I could not hear by kids two chairs down...... again, its a social, not a concert. The live music is meant to be 'background' and not in your face do to speak.
We knew the hot tub was below our balcony, but not that close. It was like we were also revellers in the hot tub. We got over the shock in a couple of days and just ignored hot tub user attempts to converse with us. Otherwise, it was a typical midship view.
Great beer and shopping day......
Awesome beach day....
Just walked the Old Town.... stop over was too short.
