Chose this cruise to be on a newer Princess ship and get away to a warmer area. The Medallion experience was very good. Checking in and being ocean ready with the Medallion was very quick. The food on Princess is very good and the service outstanding. We have decided to move away from Celebrity to Princess as we were getting bored with the same food on Celebrity year after year. We noticed on our 28 day cruise around Australia on Sea Princess that the food was hardly ever repeated. Curtis Stone, the chef, has done an outstanding job with the development of dishes for the dining room. The theater design might be a tad small for this size ship, so it is necessary to arrive 45 minutes before showtime to get a good seat. We were disappointed in the depth of the balcony. No room for a foot stool. The chair did recline so that was a plus. Our closet was very large and even though the bath was small it was functional.
The cabin is small, but there is very good storage in the room. The worst thing about our cabin was the small balcony. When the ship was built the design seems to be flawed. The balcony should have been at least 2 feet deeper. There is no foot stool for your feet. I am sure all of the similar balconies are built the same way. Ship was beautiful.
The bbq lunch was good and there are plenty of reclining chairs under palm trees. Plenty of shade.
Port has interesting shopping.
Town is right where the ship docks. Very convenient
Plenty of shopping close to the docking place.
Interesting port with many shops close to the ship.
Option to stay close to the ship or walk 15 minutes to the main part of town. There is a water taxi for $7.00 round trip to town and back.
