We have been regular Silversea travellers including twice on the Silver Spirit before it was lengthened. The lengthening seems to have produced a jerky motion at low speeds.

The cruise from Singapore to Mumbai only got as far as the first port: Phuket. With all the scheduled ports closed we then meandered around the South China Sea for 10 days hoping someone would let us in. Eventually, we disembarked at Darwin, a port it would have been sensible to dock at 10 days earlier!

Without exception, the staff and crew were first rate. Their tasks were complicated by the nature of the cruise and many faced unemployment after the cruise. The butler service is now working much better with the experience gained over time. The quality of food is first class, albeit some lines ran out after 10 days, Cabins are clean and well designed. To have avoided the dreaded Coronavirus is testament to the cleaning and other measures taken. Activities were well run.

Phuket highlights tour was well designed, including trip to the Giant Budda and walking tour of old town. Well organised by both Silversea and the local tour company.
