Before the cruise on Mein Schiff 6 we sailed Celebrity (2x), NCL and Royal Caribbean. As we are German, we decided that it's time to try a German cruise line.

The Mein Schiff 6 is one of the newest ships in the fleet and was in a great shape. The public spaces were designed well and very spacious, it was never a problem to find a spot in the bars and restaurants. The food was average at best and even the food at the speciality dining venues was nothing to wow about. The dinnerware was scruffy, the service staff didn't seem to like their jobs. The reason for that might have been that they were treated poorly by their supervisors. Not only once did we see supervisors shouting at crew members.

Almost all drinks at the bars are included, but the selection left much to be desired and cocktails were poorly prepared. No frozen daiquiris were available throughout the ship, not even at the pool bar. There is no music at the pool at all, we really missed the great atmosphere on sea days we experienced on American ships. Read more
