Overall Experience: We were rescheduled several times due to cruising restrictions related to the pandemic so we encountered some disappointments along the way. American Queen Steamboat Company (AQSC) did everything in their power to get us on the earliest cruise possible and threw in some very nice perks for our inconvenience. We were able to cruise May 16, 2021. We are not new cruisers having done many ocean cruises in various locations and a handful of river cruises. AQSC surpassed any cruise we've ever done with their entertainment and the service was equal to or surpassed any of our past cruises.
Embarkation and pre-embarkation: We had to take an AQSC sponsored Covid 19 test the day before embarkation and the process was a little disorganized. Hopefully this will go away soon. The day of the cruise the embarkation process and the safety drill were speedy and painless.
Boat: The boat exceeded our expectations. It was new, elegant, and some might call it a little bit swanky. The public areas were spacious and welcoming. Our cabin was a Class A Veranda Suite with private balcony and was more spacious than most balcony cabins on other cruise ships/boats. The bathroom was also large and accommodating with a full size shower and ample sink space.
Response from BriannaH, Guest Relations @American Queen Voyages
The cabin and bathroom were larger than expected. Closet space was a little limited. It was nicely decorated and comfortable. The verandah was private and spacious for two people.
