So our cruise was the third short cruise which constitutes the maiden voyage of the Virtuosa. Embarkation was smooth, we waited about 20mins for the result of our covid test but then it was straight on board. The ship is stunning - brand new, very sparkly, from the crystal steps to the mirrored lifts via the glass wine cellar, all was shiny and beautiful.
The staff were all friendly and helpful, genuinely happy to be back cruising. We ate in the main dining room, the buffet and the mexican restaurant - no complaints at all, the food was great. We certainly made the most of our drinks package (premium plus) a huge selection of cocktails and lots of champagne.
The entertainment was good though limited due to the pandemic situation - I expect a full cruise in normal times would have more variety. The stage shows in the main theatre were quite a spectacle, though more of a review than a story. The Soul Sisters were awesome, really enjoyed their shows (so much we saw some of them twice)
Our cabin was fine for us, the shower was powerful. A good amount of drawers and shelves for storage. The Tv was quite large and could be angled. The hairdryer was just your standard cabin hair dryer, it cut out a couple of times whilst using it - missed my own. We had no problem with storage, i did overhear someone saying if you were a broad chested man that the wardrobe wasn't deep enough for your jackets. The bed was firm and very comfortable. The balcony though small had two chairs and a foot stool on it, and was perfectly adequate. The room was well lit with lighting that could be controlled from the bed. Temperature control was good for the aircon.
We didn't get off the ship in Portland, but it was a beautiful day and the view from the ship made it look quite exotic!
